What a start to 2018!
Coorg, the Scotland of India was our chosen destination to kick-start the year.
Date : Jan 20th and 21st
Assembly : 5:30 AM
Distance : 600 Kms (Approx.)
We gathered near Nice Road junction, Kengeri for the ride briefing as usual and started the ride at around 6:00 AM. It was a cold morning and the members quickly grabbed a cup of hot tea before they started.
Our Day 1 plan was to go to KRS backwaters near Mysore. But we had to cancel this as one our members met with an accident. Luckily the rider escaped the crash with only a dislocated arm, thanks to all the protective gears. We made sure that he and his bike was alright, provided first aid and made arrangements for his further treatments.
We headed straight to the homestay as we weren't in any mood to visit KRS backwaters after seeing the crash. The homestay was located deep inside a coffee plantation near Siddapur, Coorg. We had some food and some good conversations around the campfire.
We started Day 2 early after the breakfast. Headed straight to Mandalpatti, this time as there was some road work in progress we had no roads to ride literally! This was one of the hardest off-road trail especially for the Classic 350's with Zapper tyres !

The Himalayan handled like a dream and we realized the true potential of the bike!. These off-road trail took lot of our time but it was worth it :-)
We then took the Kushalnagar-Chenrayapttana-Bangalore highway as it was a Sunday ( you can imagine Mysore Road on weekend, can't you? ;-) ). It was a smooth ride with moderate to low traffic.
Though we had some serious incidents on Day 1 it was a great ride. And yea we have some new members who are very passionate riders like Shreedhar, Har, Sanjay, Gautham, Yashwant and Roy. Welcome aboard guys :-)
