Like all the other rides 'Escapade De Wayand' was the fun filled and eventful. All the 13 members have shown great endurance specially two ladies in the club. As we expected there were some beautiful roads and hairpin curves on the way to Wayanad. Below is a brief ride story.
Start : Bangalore. Distance : 300 kms Route : Bangalore - Kanakapura - Gundlupet -Sulthan Batheri. Destination : Wayanad.
We started early in the morning from the Nice road junction on Kanakapura road. After shake of hands and hugs we started the journey with full spirit. Long stretch of road, tank of fuel was all that we cared about. It was a hot day indeed to start with but as we crossed the Karnataka-Kerala border weather eased up and all we could see was beautiful, green and exquisite nature. We were in the resort by evening and went for a small walk to get the best possible view of the famous Wayanad hairpin curves (Lekkidi View Point). Post that it was the beer and campfire which did the job :-).
We headed to Edakkal Caves after traditional Kerala style breakfast. Frankly, we did not expect such a huge crowd when we reached the destination and for our surprise there was some VIP for whom all the common people had to wait to get the ticket. We had to drop the trekking to the cave to save time :-(
Our next destination was Karapuzha dam which was 12 Kms away. We did some serious off roading to reach the destination. It was a beautiful spot to take cool pictures and we knew the drill! arranged the bikes, switched the headlights on and there you go! We headed to the mighty hairpin curves near Lekkidi view point. Breathtaking view, took some time to take it all in! We then had to have a cup of tea from a tea stall which was all the way down the mountains. It was one of the toughest roads in the trip. With many bonehead truck and bus drivers we carefully made it to the tea stall. Again, it was amazing to see the point from where we started.
Start : Wayanad. Distance : 300 kms Route : Resort - Gudlur -Bandipur - Chamarajanagar - Kanakapura road - Bangalore Destination : Bangalore. We took the Wayanad - Gudalur road o enjoy the open stretch of roads through tea estates. We couldn't resist ourselves from stopping and doing a photoshoot. From there the roads never disappointed all the way till Bangalore.
We had numerous challenges throughout the ride, it was definitely not a joy ride both for the man and the machine. We had to make many stops to make sure that the ride is still on! It is really commendable how all the members including two brave ladies in the club tackled the hurdles. Hats off to the endurance, passion and wanderlustness.
Intro to the new members :
Mani : Man on the bird, Thunderbird! Ready to roll all the time with a smile, always. It takes lot of courage to travel from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on a train. Mani has seen hell lot of adventure than many of us, it was good to know all those heroic stories. We're damn sure you have many stories to unfold :-)
Jayanth and Jonisha :
Two friends from Bangalore, displaying the highest level of endurance throughout the ride. Good to know you both and welcome to the club :-) We are sure you have some interesting stories too.
Sumanth Gowda : Sumanth is definitely not a new member. In fact, he is a member since 2015. This was the first time he joined us for a 3 day trip. His Bullet 350 was 2 years old and he took her to Wayanad to celebrate her birthday, RESPECT!
Sudhir Traveling all the way from Hyderabad to join the ride, we salute your passion and dedication! Just like his cousin Vivek Raju, Sudhir was responsible on the road. We look forward to ride along in coming days :-)
Manoj Mahendra This was the first trip with us for Manoj, on his black Classic 350 he chose Wayanad to kick start his travel life with the best. We look forward to have some awesome road trips with you! Welcome aboard.
